The University of Idaho Library is no longer a patent depository, but the United States Patent and Trademark Office website provides comprehensive information about applying for, searching for, and learning about patents. Full-text searching of all patents from 1976 to the present and applications from 2001 to the present can be found by searching the PTO database. Patents from 1790 to 1975 are available as TIFF files and may be searched by Issue Date, Patent Number, and Current US Classification.
