Off-Campus Access: Search for Articles

This guide provides information about using the University of Idaho Library from outside of the library building.

Methods for Searching

You have three main options for finding articles:

1. Use Primo - the Library's Catalog.

2. Select a specific database to search.

3. Use Google Scholar and link your account to the UI Library.

1. Find Articles in Primo - the Library's Catalog

You can find many articles using the main search box on the library's page.  This is the library's catalog - Primo.  Make sure you're using one of the dropdowns that include e-resources. You can filter to see only articles on the left-hand side of the screen.

2. Searching for Articles in a Specific Database

Use the Databases A-Z link under the main catalog on the library's homepage. You can ask a librarian for suggestions or visit our Databases by Subject page!

3. Link Google Scholar to the UI Library

You can set up your Google Scholar account to recognize you're affiliated with the University of Idaho Library.  Use the three lines in the upper left hand corner. Select "Settings." Select "Library Links" and search for the University of Idaho Library.
