Finding books at the UI Library

Search for books (including the e-book collection) using the library catalog.

Books are located on the 4th (A-G), 3rd (H-S), and 2nd (T-Z) floors organized by the Library of Congress Classification system.

The UI Library now provides access to many eBooks in the Biological Sciences, which you can find by searching the library catalog or using the links below.

How do I Use Interlibrary Loan?

If you need a book that's not available at the UI Library or Summit, use the library's free Interlibrary Loan service to request it.

You can also request articles and other research materials through Interlibrary Loan.

  1. Locate the book you would like to request using the library catalog
  2. If the book is not available, or checked out in UI and Summit, click on Request Item.
  3. Enter your user name (the barcode located on the back of your Vandal Card) and password (self selected during ILL registration)
  4. Verify book request to make sure all necessary fields are complete, and submit
  5. A record of the request should appear on your ILL account page
