Any Idaho resident 18 years of age or older can check out books with a guest permit, which they can obtain by presenting a photo ID at the Circulation Desk. Washington residents who live in Pullman, Palouse, Albion, Uniontown and up to Colfax and down to Clarkston can also obtain guest permits.
If a book’s record says "Check Request Options," this means it is not in our Library. To find books currently available in our Library, which you can check out with a guest card, navigate to 'Refine My Results' and under 'Availability,' select 'Available in the Library.'
If you want a book the University of Idaho Library doesn't have or if you are unable to come into the Library, you can request a copy through your local public library. You can search for Open Access ebooks in our library catalog. To find them, navigate to the 'Availability' section of 'Refine My Results' and check the 'Open Access' box. You can then check the box for 'ebooks' under 'Resources Type'.
Google Books is an online repository of books that have been digitized and made available to the public.
