Public Performance Rights (PPR) for Documentary Videodiscs held by the University of Idaho Library: Distributors With Included PPR

Overview

Most of the videodiscs for which the Library paid for public performance rights are distributed by one of the vendors listed in the column at right. It is always a good idea to double check on the status of any videodisc distributed through a vendor from whom we usually purchase PPR as there may be exceptions. (i.e., If the Library purchased a videodisc by Women Make Movies through a vendor other than Women Make Movies itself, the Library's copy may not include public performance rights. The Library typically purchases videodiscs directly from the distributor, but there are exceptions.)

Distributors

The Library holds public performance rights for most of the videodiscs that it has purchased from the following distributors. Please note that there may be exceptions amongst these.

  • Bullfrog Films (EXCEPTION: "home use only" titles)
  • California Newsreel

  • Cinema Guild
  • Davidson Films
  • Direct Cinema
