Impact Factor

An impact factor is a way to measure the influence of a journal and the research in it. It is caluclated based on the number of times articles in a journal are cited by others. Impact factors are calucated yearly for journals that are indexed in Journal Citation Reports. Journals with the highest impact factors are generally considered to be the best in their field.
